What are the five most challenging social problems facing the United States today?

1. Unnecessary Wars

Modern Warfare has crippled the U.S. economy and has left us with no clear victory and no clear benefit.
2. National Debt

Debt takes the control of the destiny of our country out of our own hands and into the hands of those who own the debt. It lowers income, weakens the value of the dollar, and drains wealth along with other negative consequences.
3. Same Sex Marriage

The prophets have taught that homosexuality is contrary to God's plan for families, which are the basic units of our society. The practice of homosexuality seems to always lead to the destruction of a society... I mean look at Sodom and Gomorrah.

4. Unemployment

Unemployment forces people to rely more on the government, particularly welfare. People not being self-sufficient leads to idleness.

5. Illegal Immigration

Illegal Immigrants take jobs away from American citizens, don't pay taxes, and receive education and health benefits from the Federal Government. There is nothing wrong with foreigners coming into our country, but it should be done legally.

  1. I also agree that as of lately we have been engaged in unnecessary wars. The trillion of dollars that go into the military and the debt that we continue to collect does nothing but sinks our nation into a deeper hole than before. I can't say that I completely agree with you on the homosexuality part destroying our society. The practice of gay relationship/marriages I cannot voucher for, but at the same time I cannot agree that such a minute contribution to society is causing great destruction. I just think its for the individual to decide. After all, this is American, the land, supposedly, of choice.

  2. Wow, you had three of the problems that I posted about: immigration, gay marriage, and unemployment. The national debt is a big problem that I am glad you put up. I think a perfect thing that goes along with unnecessary wars is overspending. I appreciate the men going over seas and fighting to protect us, but at the same time- wars cost a lot of money.

  3. I completely agree with your portion on the national debt. It's a curse that is continuously growing and putting dead weight on the future generation of America. It's something that needs to be fixed, and our president isn't helping it out at all. Well, congress too.
